We are renowned for our delicious, freshly made Tradition Afternoon Tea and our customers can’t get enough our our dainty little sandwiches, along with freshly made scones and cake.

Largely credited to Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, in 1840, afternoon tea was created because the duchess would become hungry at around 4pm.

The evening meal in the Bedford household was served at 8pm, as was fashionable at the time, which left a long gap between lunch and dinner, and so afternoon tea was born.

All dishes are freshly prepared and cooked to order by our talented and dedicated team.

The Specials Menu is available from noon and is served from Monday to Saturday.

About us

Langan’s Tea Rooms is run by service users as a social enterprise. It is owned by The O’Connor Gateway Trust which operates alongside the BAC O’Connor Centre, in Burton.

The charity works with people who are struggling with addiction to alcohol or drugs to help them move into recovery and to integrate back into their local community, equipped with living skills and a vocation.

The O’Connor Gateway Trust supports individuals to become productive and positive members of their community.

All revenue is ploughed back into community services to provide education, training and employment for those individuals who have undergone rehabilitation to gain qualifications and valuable skills within a supportive environment.

The team prides itself on using locally-sourced fresh produce which is carefully prepared by our talented chefs.

A choice of two roast meats are always available which changes weekly and includes beef, pork, lamb and poultry.

Generous portions are served with roast potatoes, a selection of seasonal vegetables and lashings of gravy.

A vegetarian option is also available each week.

Review of Sunday Lunch at Langan’s Tea Rooms

Once again a fantastic Sunday lunch delivered by the friendly staff of Langan’s. The roast pork, like the roast beef the previous week, just melted in the mouth.

The cauliflower mornay was excellent as were the roast potatoes and vegetables. The bread and butter pudding with custard was delicious. It all arrived hot and was kept that way in the oven until we were ready to sit down and eat.

“On both occasions we ordered the lunch for 1.30pm and your timing was spot on. It is lovely to be supporting Langan’s while at the same time not having to prepare a lunch and with minimal washing up!!!

We will definitely be using Langan’s services again. All the best and well done to everyone who prepares and delivers our lunch on Sundays.
